Sophie Cheeseman

Deputy Art Editor

Sophie joined the Horse&Hound art team in 2018, and is now Deputy Art Editor on the magazine and works primarily on print pages, covers and marketing materials. She has a vast range of experience, also working on design for large businesses, hand-drawn fine art wedding stationary, and recently dabbling in oil painting. Having always been interested in art and design, she started out in marketing on a competitor title and self-taught print design along the way. Sophie owned a 4 year old Connemara mare with Glencarrig and Coosheen lines, imported from Ireland, who she bought to produce for dressage. But, after backing her in 2020 and of showing her the world to gain experience took a discipline about turn and enjoyed hunting regularly with The South Downs Bloodhounds alongside low level dressage. Having sold her Connie in 2022 to a lovely home in Devon, she now regularly rides for other people producing young horses, competing a friend's event horse at Elementary dressage and keeping hunters fit for the season. Sophie lives in Hampshire and owns two dogs, a 3 year old Whippet, Bluebell, who enjoys trips to the yard, long hacks round the gallops and joining in team video meetings. Also, Frank, who at six months old likes to chew brushing boots, run riot around the yard and certainly keeps everyone on their toes.
