  • The Defender Burghley Horse Trials (31 August – 3 September) is the biggest autumn three-day event in Britain and is renowned for its challenging, undulating terrain in the beautiful grounds of Burghley House

    The Defender Burghley Horse Trials 2023 tickets are available and can be bought at a discount in advance via the box office until 20 August or at full price on the gate during the event.

    Entries for the five-star event are now open for this year’s competitors, so there’s not long to wait now!

    To visit the Land Rover Burghley Horse Trials (31 August – 3 September) you will need to buy:

    • a car pass to park your car
    • admission tickets for each person
    • grandstand tickets to watch the dressage and/or showjumping (if required)

    Burghley Horse Trials 2023 ticket prices

    The cheapest way to buy all types of tickets is in advance online. Tickets on the gate are subject to availability.

    Car passes

    Passes are £15 for each day (in advance) or £18 on the gate.

    General admission

    Tickets are £27 for Thurs/Fri/Sun* or £48 for Sat (in advance). On the gate, these will cost £30 for Thurs/Fri/Sunday or £50 for Saturday.

    Accompanied children aged 12 or under are admitted to the event free of charge, but will need a ticket to watch from the grandstand.

    Grandstand seating

    To be sure of a seat, we recommend buying a grandstand ticket in addition to your admission ticket in advance. Members’/guest badges get free entry to the North Stand on Thursday and Friday. You can purchase grandstand membership in advance online until midnight on Wednesday 30 August for Thursday admission, midnight on Thursday 31st August for Friday admission and midnight on Saturday 2 September for Sunday admission.

    Dressage grandstand tickets (Thurs/Fri) cost £20–30 in advance (£23–34 if purchased at the event).

    Cross-country grandstand tickets (Saturday) cost £10 for a seat in advance (£12 at the event).

    Showjumping grandstand tickets (Sunday) range from £23–28 for an uncovered seat to £32–62 for a covered seat in advance (or £26–66 at the event).

    BHT Radio earpieces will give you expert commentary and analysis wherever you are on the showground. These can be ordered in advance or purchased on the day for £12.

    Season tickets

    If you plan to attend the whole event, a season ticket will cost £102 per person and £50 for a four-day car pass in advance.

    Burghley Membership

    Burghley membership can be purchased in advance for £350 and must be purchased by midnight on Sunday 20 August. Membership includes:

    • admission to the event for two people on all four days
    • parking in one of the members’ car parks
    • exclusive access to the members’ enclosure
    • exclusive access to the North Grandstand on Thursday and Friday to watch the Dressage
    • the ability to purchase two additional guest badges per membership

    Caravan membership starts at £535 thereafter and must be purchased in advance. It includes all the benefits of a regular membership, plus a reserved caravan parking space.

    Gift vouchers

    If you’re buying for someone else, you can purchase gift vouchers so that they can choose their tickets.
