    Official description

The Tattersall Traditional rug is multi-purpose, woven and hand finished in the UK that is suitable for travelling, use after exercise, as an under rug, or a summer sheet. The rug has a ventilated “Mock Leno” weave along the spine to allow horses to cool off while maintaining their body temperature. The 100% high-bulk acrylic means the rug is warm without being a heavy weight. The stain-resistant fabric is woven in the traditional Tattersall check design. The antibacterial material prevents transmission of skin diseases and the rug is washable at 30°C.

    First impressions

It fitted the horses really well, but seemed like more of a cooler than a sheet.

    Overview of performance

I found that I used this rug more on the milder days on a horse that needed to be kept warm yet cooled down after exercise as it was too warms to use as a sheet on a hot summer’s day. It was good for use overnight when the temperature dropped, however shavings did stick to it.

    Georgi’s likes and dislikes

I like how versatile this rug is on cooler days as it can be used during travelling, in the stable or to throw on after exercise. It does not work as well as a simple summer sheet as it is too warm.

    Verdict

It’s a good addition to any tack room as it’s really handy. I am also using it during the winter to throw over their backs after work.
