Welcome to our group test of sports bras for horse riding. All of the sports bras in this group test have been put through their paces by professional event rider Sam Jennings and her team. Find out what they thought about the Boobuddy Original support band below

Official description: Boobuddy Original support band

The Boobuddy support band provides breast compression during physical activity, particularly high impact. It has been developed to dramatically reduce vertical and lateral breast movement; preventing pain, injury and ligament damage. This revolutionary accessory gives women of all shapes and sizes the confidence to exercise and play sport without embarrassment and fear of pain, leaving them to concentrate on performing to the best of their ability. Place the Boobuddy across the top of the breasts, either over or under your existing sports bra, and ensure it is tight enough to prevent bounce, but not cause restriction or discomfort.
Colours: Black, pink, grey, beige or green

    First impressions

I thought this looked quite strange and quite awkward, but I could see the inspiration behind it and where the design has evolved from.

    Overview of performance

I had a medium, but it was a little on the large side so I probably would have been better with a small. It was well packaged and the instructions were really helpful. It was easy to put on but took a while to get used to. It felt a bit restrictive, especially at first, but as I got used to it I found it more useful. I wore it at boot camp and it did stop my boobs moving. It washed well, although the elastic did stretch a bit.

    Sam’s likes and dislikes

The colour wasn’t the most practical, but it was fun and you could get it in a range of other colours if you preferred another. It was a nice concept, but I don’t think I would use it in the future. However, if you’re struggling with your sports bra this could help as an added extra.

    Verdict

This could work for you if you need that bit of extra support in addition to your current sports bra.
