Maryland 5 Star

The Maryland 5 Star is running for the first time from 14-17 October 2021, joining the exclusive family of five-star horse trials around the world.

The site where Maryland is running, Fair Hill, has hosted events up to four-star for many years. The five-star event will take place at the Fair Hill Special Event Zone at the venue.

Maryland is the world’s seventh five-star and the second in the US, joining Kentucky Three-Day Event in the spring.

The cross-country course at Maryland 5 Star will be designed by British multi-medalled former event rider Ian Stark, who is designing at five-star for the first time here.

Three British riders have made the trip to compete at Maryland’s inaugural five-star – Oliver Townend (Cooley Master Class), Zara Tindall (Class Affair) and Harry Meade (Superstition). British-based US rider Leslie Law will also line up on Voltaire De Tre’, as well as a host of top riders from other nationalities.
