Selling points: “Louis is beautifully bred and has a temperament to match. She has run a total of five races (non-racing agreement now in place) and was a much-loved mare by her owners and trainer. Due to one of her owners sadly passing away, the decision was made to retire her, with her last race being in December 2020. She has since been out at grass and enjoying some downtime before coming to me to find her long-term home. Since arriving with me, she has been hacking alone and in company, schooling and learning all about life outside of racing. I have some clinics and lessons planned over coming weeks that I will use to continue her education. She has no vices or previous injuries and will be a wonderful project for someone to bring on for riding club, showing or eventing. She has just started basic polework and will be schooled over fences as times goes on.”

Selling points: “This is an absolutely beautiful looking mare with lovely paces — she is well-schooled on the flat and does a great test, but can be lazy. She loves her jumping and is forward with a scopey and careful technique. She’s done lots of clinics and camps both showjumping and cross-country. She would be a great starter horse for someone wanting to event or showjump. She hacks in company and good in traffic — I’ve only hacked a couple of times alone as it is not my thing. She is vice and blemish free. She needs a big bucket of feed or sedating to clip, is good with the farrier and to catch etc. She only travels in a lorry.”

3. ‘Incredibly smart’
Selling points: “This cracking little lady is incredibly smart and correct and has experience in all aspects of equestrian sport. She is well-mannered with a sweet kind and polite nature. She rides very nicely on the flat, has competed dressage and prelim British Dressage and Pony Club (PC) novice. She has a soft snaffle mouth and is light in the hand. She is extremely comfortable to ride, naturally balanced with expressive paces and a natural eye-catching presence. She has done PC and riding club activities with success. She has competed at BE100 level with success and would be a super-fun candidate for grassroots classes for someone who hasn’t got a top end budget. She has also showjumped up to 1/1.05m to-date. She is naturally careful with plenty of jump. She is phenomenal across country, jumping skinnies, into water, ditches etc. She hacks alone and in company and seen all types of traffic.”

4. ‘Potential star’
Selling points: “This classy home-bred mare has been professionally backed and carefully produced over the past couple of years. Her breeding lines contain international grade A showjumpers as well as quality dressage horses. She carries herself beautifully on the flat and excels at jumping, which she shows a natural aptitude for, popping 1.05m comfortably at home with scope to go on. Despite her age and experience, she is always keen to please and will jump anything asked of her. She is a straightforward ride, but does have a bit of young horse sparkle so would not suit a complete novice. She has competed in unaffiliated dressage and showjumping and has been cross-country schooling, proving to be bold through water, steps etc. She hacks alone or in company, is good in traffic and with dogs. This beautiful mare would best suited a competition home and is fit and ready to progress her competition career this season. She would excel in eventing or showjumping due to her natural talent and enthusiasm, but she is also attractive enough to compete in working hunter classes. No vices or ailments.”

Selling points: “This mare has evented up to a metre and hunted. She has a fabulous jump and I have never known her to refuse — she is forgiving on a bad stride and just loves her job. She does a nice dressage test and would suit a competition home, or could be a fun all-rounder for someone looking to do a bit of everything. She is always ridden in a happy mouth snaffle, but please no nervous or novice riders. I have not taken her on the road while hacking as I am lucky enough to have off-road at my stables where she behaves well. She has never been bothered by the tractor on the yard, and is fine with dogs and children. She is really affectionate on the ground, loves a cuddle and is never grumpy or mareish.”
